    What do you do to prevent pedal rash on the bass drum hoop ?

    Try putting something between the clamp and the hoop.

    Fold a piece of paper over and over and stick it in between the clamp and the hoop.

    I dont worry about it. I just make sure I always mount my pedal in the same spot.

    The hoop should have a spot designed for mounting the pedal. Maybe it is on top part of your hoop better check just in case. If not then follow what others say.

    I put two rubber pads that were made by I think it was gibralter over the hoops. It has worked beautifully for 8+ years now.
