Question Onyx Evans drum heads Questions

I was thinking about getting Onyx evans skins. Do they make one for snare? I cannot find one anywhere. Also, can anyone tell me how they are in sound? possibly an example of a song where the toms sound similar? Thank you very much!

If they make a tom head the same size as your snare, then you're in luck. It doesn't need to be much different from any other onyx heads, except for the bass head.

They do, 14inch. However, I was told not to use a tom head for snare. I don't know ]: I'm not superr superr experienced as a drummer. Im good at drumming, just not so sure about equipment. Any clue why they would say not to use tom head on snare? Will it sound different? I don't know. (Also, they are 2ply and have a dark tone to them, so im told.)

I'm not completely sure if Onyx are the same concept as Remo's Black Suede heads, but I think they're pretty close to the same thing. If so, the Black Suede is made as a snare batter and sounds pretty awesome over maple and birch. What snare are you using?

I have a coated Onyx on my snare. I don't know what to say about it. It's more of a closed sound compared to single ply. I can't compare it to other two plies heads because I haven't tried any and not sure how much of the sound is the shell.

I am not thrilled, but I am happy with it.
