Default Favorite obscure 70's rack bands.

I have a rare day off today with no one else at home. Whoo Hooo!!! Anyway, I was surfing you tube and ran across this band. I saw them as an opening act in the late seventies. Great tunes and amazing energy.

Then I got to thinking about what other obscure bands I could come up with. I found a ton of them but these guys were always a 70's fave:

Hey NR, when I saw this thread, I was going to post April Wine. You beat me to it. These guys are the best! Definitely not forgotten here! I have most of their cd's and still listen to them on a regular basis. Also, they are still jammin' today. But, not in the states unfortunately and without Jerry Mercer back behind the kit.

Talking about April Wine their drummer Jerry Mercer just retired from that band in the spring of 2010 at 70 years old after 40 years playing with them. For the Jerry Mercer fans he lives north of Kingston, Ontario Canada.

The album "Ra" was a stand out for me and my 70's experience. This is the opening number. Awesome sound for the time.

Drummer Willie Wilcox and bassist Kasim Sultan were wicked tight. Awesome live band, too.
    Proudly playing:

    A bunch of snares
    A bunch of cymbals

    Off-Set double pedals

I think I love to play the drums simply because you get to hit 'em!!!
