Gosh..I can't recall how much I've spent on cymbals but the Mega Power ride is awesome! It has so much presence that it over shadow's all of my Zildjian and Sabian rides. Thanks for the props!

Trommler, how did you like the Pro Sonix china? There's one used at GC for 80 bucks that I've been considering for some time. It's either that or a 16" Wuhan. The Wuhan wins in terms of price, but I have an urge to keep everything Sabian if I can.

Hey NIM, I actually got that Pro Sonix china with some other drum stuff, but I was positively surprised how nice it sounded (loud and trashy when hit with a stick, gongy when played with mallets) given that it is only a beginner level cymbal. I actually considered keeping it but then figured that it was way too loud for me. I always wanted a small china with a fast decay for those fast accents. I finally bought a 14" K mini china that goes perfectly with my 18" K dark crash.
I think the Pro Sonix series was considered to be one of the best beginner level series around back then. I sold it for 30 or 40 australian dollar i think. I have way too many cymbals so I can't keep anything I guess.

    okay hmmmm lets begin

14' b8 pro hats (original set up)
20' b8 pro ride (original set up, really old cymbals too)
    then I got a
    16' b8 crash
    followed by a replacement 20' b8 ride
    then
14' AA rock hats (currently used)
I sold my b8 pro ride and hi hat at a garage sale
next cymbal was an 18' Solar china
    thennn a 14' Oriental
    i got a 16' XS20 medium crash from cousin
i ordered my baby 22' Meinl Byzance medium ride
i sold my b8 crash+ride and i ended up losing my oriental china
    18' oriental china was next
and then a 20' HHXplosion crash
I sold my xs20 soon enough
    i cracked my oriental
so it brings me to my set up now
14' AA rock hats, 20' HHXplosion, 22' Meinl Byzance medium ride, and a 17' K china. I bought a 20' Meinl medium thin jazz ride but i dont use it that often hah

The purpose of this thread was to see if I wasn't the only person who remembers pretty much every cymbal they ever had. We all love our cymbals, by the look of it. Very cool. Another reason is that cymbals give a vague picture of a drummer's personality. I find it neat.

On the off topic of my Legos, Dave, Legos are still being made. I sold my old collection of 9 volt Lego Trains. Lego no longer makes them, and they are collectors items. As many of you know... Noah wants to collect cymbals. Not Lego Trains. So that's how I went about it. Some forty year old in his Mom's basement can enjoy one of my Lego train cars that I sold him for two hundred bucks. I'll enjoy my beautiful round pies of shiny awesome.

My first set of cymbals I don't remember. I do remember them being Sabians however. All of these, along with the kit were sold for more then I bought them for originally. GG.

Here's what I remember after I kicked back into drumming:

    Zildjian ZBT 14" Hats (Traded)
    Zildjian ZBT 16" Crash (Traded)
    Zildjian ZBT 18" Crash (Traded)
    Zildjian ZBT 20" Ride (Traded)
Agazarian 18" China (Loaned and later given away to drummer from the band we shared a practice room with)
Agazarian 10" Splash (Became damaged, the lathing caused the cymbal to strip away slowly, now used on practice kit as hats)
Agazarian 10" Splash #2 (Used on practice kit as hats)
Zildjian ZHT 10" Splash (Currently used in setup)
Zildjian A Custom 14" Hats (Currently used in setup)
Zildjian A Custom 16" Crash (Crash on practice kit)
Zildjian A Custom 18" Fast Crash (Currently used in setup)
Zildjian A Custom 12" Splash (Currently used in setup)
Zildjian A Custom 20" Medium Ride (Traded for...)
Zildjian K Custom 20" Dry Ride (Currently used in setup)
Zildjian A Custom 8" Splash (Currently used in setup)
Zildjian Oriental "Crash of Doom" (Currently used in setup)
Zildjian Z Series 20" Star-Hammered Light Power Crash (Used as ride on practice kit)
Zildjian Oriental 16" China Trash (Cracked by guitarist at party, still used in setup)
Zildjian Oriental 15" China Trash (Unused)

The only two constants I have are DW and Zildjian.

well ive only been playing 4 1/2 years and only got pro cymbals in the last year so i should be able to :P

    started with:
    Sabian B8 14" hats
    Sabian B8 16" thin crash
    Stagg 12" splash

    Added:
    Sabian B8 20" Rock Ride

    Now:
Sabian AA 21" Raw Bell Dry Ride

Zildjian FX 18" oriental China Trash
Paiste 2oo2 20" Crash (cracked, given to guitarist)
    Zildjian A Custom 18" Crash
    Paiste 2oo2 20" Crash (got a new one :P)

and that i believe is all.

hoping to add to that list
    Paiste Giant Beat 24" Ride
Zildjian K Custom 22" Medium Ride
Zildjian K Custom 18" Dark Crash
Zildjian K Custom 18" Fast Crash

A pair of cheap Zilco hats, and a crash/ride that came with my first Rogers set in about 1973. Had a friend that would lend me a Zildjian ride when I had a gig to play. Sold with the old Rogers kit in 1980.

    Since then starting in 2007

Paiste 2002 14" Sound edge hats (In use)
    2002 16" crash (In use)
    2002 17" crash (Stored)
    2002 18" crash (In use)
2002 20" heavy ride (In use, unfortunately until I can afford a new ride)
    2002 19' wild crash (Stored)
    2002 10" splash (Stored)
Signature 15" fast crash (In use)

I'm really liking the sound of the Twenty series, and they'd make for a better fit for the type of music I'm playing now. So changes are coming. I'll keep the 2002's and Signature though. They just sound soooo good.

14" Zildjian New Beats - given to me by my parents around second grade or so. I still have them, but they're too heavy for general use.
18" no-name given by my grandfather - I sold it with my beginner drumset through the Want-Ad.
18" K Zildjian crash-ride - given by my parents when I was in high school. Still have it, pull it out occasionally. Very funky cymbal.
16" Istanbul med. crash - bought at a music store in Boston, not sure which one. Still in use as a jazz crash. Love it.
20" Zildjian med-thin crash (60s vintage) - bought at Joe's Drum Shop in Beverly, MA. Bought it as a jazz ride; looking to replace it.
20" Sabian AA Medium ride - bought at Joe's Drum Shop. Still have it, looking to unload. Good cymbal, but a touch heavy for me.
16" Sabian HHX Evolution O-Zone Crash - bought at a Guitar Center on the North Shore of Massachusetts. Everyone I play with likes it.
20" A Zildjian ride (70s vintage) - bought from Ebay, cheaply because it has rivet holes. Excellent classic rock ride sound.
18" Sabian AA med-thin crash - picked up free from a friend's basement. Use it regularly.
10" Sabian HH Splash - ditto.
14" Zildjian hats (old, but I don't know how old.) Lightweight hats that are my go-to pair. Bought them from a buddy.
16" Sabian HHX Evolution crash - bought it from The Music Shoppe, which is not coincidentally the place I work. Very nice soft crash.
15" Sabian AAX-Plosion crash - came free with the above. It felt kind of clunky, didn't open up well. Sold it to the aforementioned buddy.
21" Sabian AAX Memphis Ride. Bought it from my place of work; love it.

    Hoping to add:
    17" Sabian AAX-Plosion Fast Crash
14" Bosphorus hats - played them at another shop and loved them.
    10" Sabian HH Duo Splash
    12" Sabian AAX O-Zone Splash
19" Zildjian Armand Ride (3 rivets) - trying it out tonight.
