And....anyone have any idea of the age of these two marching drums. My bass player gave them to me because he didn't want them.
First up is a Pan American Band Instruments marching drum and the second is a Ludwig. Any info will be much appreciated. I'm going to refurbish these snare drums and use them on my kits, see how well they record in-studio.

well i might as well post what i use for personal practice at home.....I have a 13 by 9 inch champ. articulite indoor snare in black coating w/ a blackmax head on top and the stock snare side head......It sounds really crispy,hehe.well i dont feel like breaking out the snare i just use my slimpad w/ laminate

I play 5th base (by choice) i love the deeper sound i feel kinda wimpy when i play first base.
My line has:
5 Basses-Black and chrome Yamaha with white Evans head
3 Snare-Drum captains uses blackhead and the other two are whitehead
2 Tenors-either white or clear heads

7 snares (one needs a new head cuz the first is busted), 5 bass, about 5 crash cymbals (we only use 2 or 3), and 3 quints. We use the Yamaha SFZ snare, Yamaha Mqt quints, yamaha bass drums and zildjian cymbals
