Drank way too much wine with my good friend and mentor which led to some awful drum soloing from the two of us for about an hr.!

Lol, love it man!
One of my drum buddies has looked me up for some lessons to improve his game a bit. Was nice to hang out with him, told him to not look at me as a teacher "handing down the Laws Of Drumming" like Moses coming down from the Mount, but rather as how a tennis coach looks at one of his players, offering little tips on posture, improving strokes on the drums and a bit of shop talk on gear, setting stuff up ergonomically, thing like that (which made a change of pace from teaching others today). Obviously the next lesson will focus a bit more exercises and notes, today was just to see how his general playing is and how to tweak it a bit better.

I tried to reinstall Steven Slate Drums all afternoon and night on this PC and drove myself insane - and still failed
' Up the Irons '
tapped on my new Black Magic snare. It's fitting that I'm on vacation in Louisiana and had it shipped here. You know there's still a lot of black magic being performed down here .

I picked up some new cymbals with some birthday money today. Grabbed an 8" Impression splash at $100 and scored a second hand set of Sabian Pro hats and a ride for $40 bucks each. They'll be used for rehearsals and taking out to camps and whatnot. I think I'm gonna take the splash back tomorrow though, it sounds too similar to the 7" one I already own.
^ Hey Drumstix, your birthday, hey? Happy Birthday to you man!
As for me, after finishing the last student around 7:30pm, had some dinner then dove into mallet percussion practice. Must have logged in around 2-3 hrs on that. Jeez there's so much to learn of it!

Had a friend visiting from north carolina who I jammed with for awhile.
Added some overhead mics to the kit, and I'm working out some feedback issues. It's a little frustrating right now.

Went to the Ian Paice "Meet And Greet" at one of my local stores. See the thread I posted earlier. After these next few lessons, gonna go drive a bit up north from me to pick up a Tama and Dixon cymbal stand and two DW cymbal stackers, for less than AU$150. Be a late dinner by the time I get back.

Took apart my drums, got half way through re-setting them up in a different configuration, realized I wouldn't like it, set them back up the old way. Also learned Spectrum Of Eternity by Soilwork.
Played a few songs, got frustrated, then stopped playing.

Did a bit of speed and endurance exercise at 220-250 bpm. Jammed a bit of metal, haven't in a while, it's good fun.
