Built a drum riser out of plywood and 5 gallon buckets. Despite what you might think...its not scary at all. The gig on Black Friday is gonna be a blast!

i played some Foals and Civil twilight on my knees, and daydreamed about my tobacco burst babies at home waiting for me.
Two band practices and three performance assessments.

shhhhh zak
your making me feel lazy
does looking at my drums count?
Bought some Paiste Alpha 14" hats on ebay to replace my current no name brass efforts. Wanted 2002s, but the budget for that just wasn't going to fly. I'm pretty sure the Alphas will be a significant upgrade and keep me going for the foreseeable future.
You know the very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common:
they don't alter their views to fit the facts, they alter the facts to fit their views,
which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering.

One band practice and 5 performance assessments. It's safe to say that I won't be touching the drums for a good week after tomorrow!

Participated in We Make Noise Wednesday- bring my kit and a cooler to a friend's house every Wednesday and just riff for about three hours. He provides the pizza.

I stripped all the black plastic coverings from my resurrection kit. I sanded down all the surfaces and prepped them for staining.
I then stained the 13" for test purposes. Trying to determine how many coats of stain to administer. So far, two is looking good to me.
This is after the first coat, which I put on last night.

Looks fun bish...
How hammered was the original wrap and how are you gonna finish them?.
I have a question for you or anyone else interested on influencing my decision.
Should I go and practice tonight (by myself)?. My entire kit is still brand new and begging to be played.
Its only 5:40pm right now but its Thanksgiving and very cold outside (not cold inside though) and my studio is open 24hrs and about 10 miles away.
If I dont go tonight I may not practice until this coming Monday.
Theres always just chillin out at home all nice and cozy watching TV.
HMMM?...What would you guys do?.

This is completely irrelevant now, as your post was about 2am my time and it's now 8:10am but I would have drummed too
I have a gig tonight, the place will be packed, we hit the stage at 11:30pm and the bar is open till 4:00am, we have free bar and we are getting paid too, not too shabby for JSB.

I wish I could. i was at GC the other day. There was this beauty 16" medium thin A at GC. Secondhand. So it already was played in. Man, I came real close to picking that up. They also had a real nice secondhand 8" A splash, but it was a little pricey. So I bought some sticks instead

I took down the stained tom and hung the 16. However, I forgot to start staining it. I spent the evening working on my Tele bodies. I had to route the neck pocket to accommodate my only Tele neck. Now I can't decide which body to put it on. Pretty sure it's going to be the black one.
