On the last three Monday mornings, I went to our church and practiced by myself. I had not done that in years. I even took my preferred drum books (Stick Control, Syncopation for the Modern Drummer, and The Rock Drumming Workbook). The first time is was a bit rough, but yesterday it went better. In July or August, I am planning to have a church drummer day so that we can help each other to be better drummers. Peace and goodwill.

Tried to learn the drum beat to EX's and OH's the correct way this morning and found that when you play something incorrectly for a long time it makes it soooo much harder to learn it the correct way down the road. I also need to add some 4 way coordination drills to my practice routines.

I’m working on getting my garage organized so I can utilize my workbench for drum kit refurbs along with many other projects. I have two brothers that helped me building some shelves on one side of my garage for storage. Still have to do the other side where bench is located. I have some nice metal working tools too. Pneumatic die grinders and a hanging flexible shaft grinder with a foot pedal. Mostly doing kits I’ve found low priced and clean up really nice, replace missing parts, etc. I like it as a side hobby that’s fun for me.

I haven't touched my drums in about 6 weeks. That's par for the course.

I bought a Cajon last week. Its been fun to play and a bit of a curve to play grooves "by hand" and not by sticks and pedals. I've essentially gone from 4 limbs to 2 (sonically) but its definitely cool.

Yes, there are pedals and other attachments available. Its an easy rabbit hole to fall into, so I'll probably just leave it "as is". Besides, I also like the fact that its making me rethink certain things. Figuratively "breaking the box"... providing that my fat patoot doesn't literally break the box! LMAO!

It sounds better than some name brands I’ve tried. Good bargain.
