I wonder if one of those clamp on snare wire thingy's for a cajon would work? Cheap and you won't have to tear anything apart.

Yes, but not too much of one on each side. Cut out the bottom rim for the snare wires too. Made a custom butt plate out of aluminum pieces cause it ended up right under a floor tom leg mount. Found a 16” set of wires also. Installed a p-81 throw off. Wrapped drum with a black vinyl alligator skin. It’s definitely not my go to snare. lol it needs some tweaking. It’s only a 6 lugger and sounds better with a napkin over the batter head.

I recently picked up a used Ludwig 6.5X14” Brass Acrolite. I’ll take it apart completely and polish her up.

That's a nice drum

Found my old school DW 2000 Double Bass Pedal set up I used on my black Pearl Export concert tom kit back in the 80's going through storage. I learned I couldn't do double bass that well at all.

That set up takes up a lot of space in front of your drum

Still fixing up a kit for the sound guy friend. I’ll take pics when finished.
Fixing up another kit for a drummer friend. He has a Sunlite kit. It’s actually kind of cool but I’m giving him a 5 pc. Groove percussion kit instead. He’s real happy about that. Putting on new batter heads, a snare head pack and wires (maybe an Evans ec2 reverse dot snare pack or try some Attack snare heads) an Evans emad2 batter and reso pack, replacing broken cymbal (needs a Paiste Alpha 18” because he has a full set of these minus the 18” he cracked) adding a 6,8,10” roto-tom set to it and a couple boom stands. I told him it’ll cost him approx. $500. That’s w/o labor. I’m not charging him for labor.
Ordered a bicycle tire bag for my 28” Sabian AA medium ride shown leaning against my Star jr. Kit. Only $22 for bag.

I’ve been jamming with friends and working on repairing a couple kits for friends. Having issues with a concert tom stand I’m trying to make. I need to modify it again because it won’t go as low as I’d like it to adjust to. I’ll post pics later. This is for the sound guys Tama kit. He offered to give me an old white Rogers kit. I told him that I don’t need any more drums and then said I may change my mind. I don’t own a Rogers kit.

It’s been one thing after another with friends Tama kit. Fixing bass drum leg mounts. One leg mount has a stripped wing bolt hole or for a set screw type fastener with a square head for drum key tightening to tighten leg in place. I believe it was 6mm but now have to open it up bigger like to 8mm. Drill and tap it. Will do other side to match. I could swap out the whole leg mount assembly with something else but would like to keep original part cause it’s not that difficult of a fix, at least I hope not. Things have been trial and error but that’s how I learn. Usually the hard way.. lol.

Heads delivered for Groove Percussion kit I’m fixing for friend. Probably work on it sometime this weekend. I got him to go buy 12,13,16” Evans genera reso heads.
Delay on his Paiste Alpha 18” cymbal.

^^^
Batter heads I’ve used for kit above. Not the 22” or 14”. Just the 12,13 and 16” from these.

After all these years of drumming, how have I never heard of using a bicycle tire bag for cymbals? Damn!

I've never seen it either. I guess I'll have to look into bike tire cases next time I need a cymbal case.

Bike tire bag arrived. It’s a 29”. Bought it for my 28” Sabian AA medium ride. I had it in the bag and when I’d set it down on the floor, you’d hear a clunk. So I put a small towel in the bottom of bag to help for that issue.

Keeping with the bike theme, cut a 28 in.bike tire and fit it around the Cymbal to protect the edge.
