Oh You live down stream from me by the Mississippi.
You want me to flush the toilet a few extra times so you don't run out of drinking water?

Hey I live in clinton and go to davenport often.
Iowa... The only state where I could drive south on 35, fall asleep at the wheel for an hour or so, and wake up and still be on the road.
I live in the Des Moines area, people can tell I'm Iowa born and raised because I define 801 Grand as a "skyscraper"

Iowa, home of Field of Dreams and James Kirk.
I'm in central Iowa.
A fellow child of the corn! You enjoying this wonderful weather?
I've been to the speedway once but didn't see a race there, that would have been too much fun. I cleaned up the stands, it's kinda like detasseling you might do it once but probably not twice, no matter how much money Stine is offering you.

If they dont know they can come over here and give it a shot! I just remember being in an oven, then walking into the field and the only consolation you had, the wind, disappeared. I never got to experience the tractor or the tassle fights, after detassling I decided to work hard in school so I'd never have to do it again. After that my next two jobs I was a summer camp counselor at the Boy Scout camp in Boone that was a good job, though it didn't pay nearly as much.

Using the tractor was when it was used with detassling platforms. I'm thinking 3 per side of the tractor and two persons per platform that would go down each row.
We would pick the tassles and lay them on the standing platform between us so they wouldn't fall to the ground. Then we'd head over a hill and wait for the next tractor to come up on us. At that point we'd start lobbing the tassles at the other tractor.
I detassled before I was old enough to hold a full time job or get my drivers license and it was obviously only a few weeks out of the summer but we made some pretty good dough (for a 14 year old).
