Nice!
Hi,
it seems like alot of small gig the drummer are using Cajon to jam with the Guitar players.I like the Cajon very much...but no the playing position, cause it cause my back very tired & pain. Finally, did come out something like this. It's a DIY project!!! Ask my Carpenter's friend to build a Box's body for me.I did something on the Snare(80% very close to real snare!!)add a Cowbell & wood-block just for some Latin's music(bosa,Samba, salsa!!)get a kick pedal fixed inside the Box just to get a "Kick"drum's sound. It's fun to jam with this Funky Beat Box!!cause other drummer got the change to try out too!!!
Very cool Wonder1. I agree that playing the Cajon requires a position that stresses the lower back. Looks like you've got a nice solution.

Hi,
This's use to be my very 1st DIY cajon(10 yrs ago!!!).After try out it few time for gigs.I can't stand the Back's pain..so was locking inside my friend's store room for almost 10 yrs!!! last month I did some new change for it.(1)I cnange the front plywood(snare/bass)cause it already bent due to the room's heat!!! replace a new ply now and become the "kick-drum".I cut a another square hole just to add another plywood plus home-made "snare-wire' as Snare drum(left position).add a Mini-hat or "Crasher" so that I can use my right-hand to play as normal Hi-Hat!!! Ok! The backward pedal style of playing need some pratice.I'm ok with it now There's one picture that my student who try out which I call it "GIG BOX"!!! as you can see, she's had a very relax & comfort sitting playing position for this Cajon!!! Just hope.those drummer who got Cajon can try out this method!! I can now playing this "GIG-BOX' for 2 hours gig with no back-pain's problem!! (Ya!!all the pedal & hi-Hat can store inside that little box- easy for carry to gigs!!!)
You should sell these things! I would buy one lol
Very ingenious, I like it.
