    Default Scored a New Splash

Went to the music store for my lesson today and while I was waiting I decided to scan through the cymbal racks. Low and behold, I found a used 8" A Custom Splash that I could pair with my 10" A Custom Splash for just $49. I hadn't put the 10" Acustom on my kit, because I just didn't like the way it paired up with my 12" Agazarian China and 12" Wuhan Splash. Today I tried the 8" and 10" Splashes and they sounded pretty good, so I decided to put everything together on the kit. Everything sounds great now, because everything balances out. Here are a few pictures:

Looks awsome PB, I love my little 8 K splash i find that when hit just right you get a nice quick, broken bottle sound out of it. The kit looks beautiful, i assume your "Badges" are all snares?

Yeah, all the badges I posted on the badge thread are from my snares, although the Catalina Maple badge represents this kit.

I had to take down the kit for an open house Last August, and decided not to put them back into the setup for right now. I also put the chimes, tambourine, and cowbell up for right now.

Congrats, I love how you have all your splashes set up, what clamps do you use I tried something similar, but the rack got too cluttered.

I used a couple of multi-clamps and cymbal arms, just because I had them on hand. It's a little cluttered, but it works for now. You should be able to see them better here:

Thanks RHD. I was really surprised by the crystal like tone. Paired with the 10", it really sounds great.

Thanks Marty. I got a new digital SLR camera for Christmas. It's a significant picture quality improvement over the old point and shoot!

PB congrats. What a great collection of cymbals.

And thanks for posting the pics showing how they are mounted. I'm a rack newbie, and with a much smaller set of cymbals, and I've been struggling with where to put them, especially b/c I want to add 1 more.

Wow what a lineup! I love how the cymbals and drums match the floor too. I think you'll lay down some serious cannonballs with that splash for sure.

Glad to hear the pics were useful to you KO. I know opinions vary regarding ranks, but I love mine. All the best with getting your rack set up just the way you want it.
