Question Anyone from the Finger Lakes Region of NY... or Palm Desert CA?

I live in the Finger lakes region of NY and was wondering if there are any members here who live in that area.

Also, I'm planning on staying in Palm Desert for a few months toward the end of this year... anyone out there?

I played ALL OVER that town back in the 80's/90's. PJ's, Chuck Clarks, Old Heights Tavern, and many others (some places I forget the names) Used to do a lot of shows with 94rock.

It was a vibrant music town at the time.

Not so much any longer I'm told.

I worked at WBNG from 2003-2006 (lived in Endicott at the time). Yeah, The music scene leaves much to be desired.

I used to play at The Fireside Chat a lot ( along with The Nickel, The Antlers and up around the lake) I lived in Bath for a couple years too... as it was central to everywhere the band was playing.

Quaint little town....but a little weird at times. Especially most of the time.

I played the Fireside years ago. It’s no longer open. Haverling Central School built a bus garage directly across the street from the Fireside; Consequently, The local zoning laws halted the venue’s ability to serve alcohol…thus leading to its’ demise. The Wooden Nickel is still alive and well…and from what I can tell, still has live music on weekends.

Your assessment of the town’s weird vibe is pretty much spot on. There’s definitely a ‘Twin Peaks’ feel to the place.
