(well mostly, though I really like some of Myung's bass work)
Martin Lopez from Opeth.....he doesn't always do the most complicated beats but he always does the most perfect beats for the songs....
Thomas Lang
I can't believe no one has said Neil Peart yet... with a drumset that big how can you not love him?
I think the drummer should sit back there and play some drums, and never mind about the tunes. Just get up there and wail behind whoever is sitting up there playing the solo. And this is what is lacking, definitely lacking in music today. - Buddy Rich
I know i already said Aaron Gillespie, but i must say he has a beautiful kit.

Dave Weckle has got to be one of the top 5 players in the world. He leaves me speechless.
damn that is a nice kit chance. never heard of truth drums b4

Rick Allen certainly has made an impression on me. He lost his left arm when he was only 21. Alot of people would have just disappeared, and lived off their royalties. At that young age, it took guts just to walk around in public, let alone get up in the spot light and play drums! He even called himself a "freak show". Most of us aren't even sure what he does behind his kit. I know it involves some triggers and alot of fancy footwork ! Try playing one show, or even one song, with only one arm. He might not be the best technition like Dave Weckle...but Damn...He's got balls !

i agree....any one who loses an arm and refuses to quit drumming certainly has my respect
There's ALOT of fantastic drummers out there, but for me, I like Frankie Banali. GREAT guy and down to Earth. I've met him twice and both times we had a conversation; 30 minutes the first time and an hour the second time. My favorite work from him is on WASP's Crimson Idol record. He once did over 40 different recordings in one year alone. That has to say something.
As far as jazz, my favorite is Dave Weckl. Just check out the song, "Trigger Happy".
