Default Would you buy these slightly dented Zildjian A New Beats?

    Hi all,

I found these used Zildjian A New beat hi hats for a seemingly good price.
I'm slightly concerned about a rather noticeable dent on the edge of the top cymbal.
Is it something that will have affect the sound significantly?
Is it something you would steer clear from, for fear of further damage down the line (eg. could a crack start forming there)

    many thanks

I don’t think it will affect the sound much whatsoever. If they were a great price, I’d get those.

If it was a great price, I'd buy them and give that one a few whacks with a ball peen hammer.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to ball peen that dent because it will stress harden that spot and make it worse, IMO.

Thanks for the replies. Turns out it's not a dent after all, just the way the light reflects off the cymbal made it look like it. I've already scooped them for €250 which I think is a fair price, considering they are well over 400 new

And you saved money by not having to purchase a hammer. Well done!!!
