I have to agree with superPbizzle, it truly is about what sound you are looking for! some of us get loyal cause that is the type of cymbal we had-have and will only use, others will have a mix and match..and why...."the sound they want they found" remember there is NO right or wrong here

So my original post stated that I have:

    14" ZHT Hats
    16" ZBT Crash
    18" A Custom Projection Crash
    20" ZBT Ride

and that I was buying an AA 10" splash, well I just thought I would come and give my new cymbal set up, most of these are used that I have found for under £100 and just couldn't resist purchasing, so here is the new set up.

    Sabian 13" AAX Fusion Hats
    Paiste 18" Alpha Rock Crash
Zildjian 18" A Custom Projection Crash
    Sabian 10" AA Splash
    Sabian 21" AA Dry Ride

I haven't even tried out the dry ride with the band yet but it has such a sweet ping, I can't wait to play it tonight.

As you can see brand loyalty went straight out of the window in favour of a good deal.

Oh I will play em proudly don't you worry, however, I still adore the sound of the Zildjian A and Ks, especially some of the K custom Hi hats and dry rides but they are just too expensive for me, I can't even find them at a good used price, I'll just keep waiting for that endorsement to come through... haha.

Hey JSB, reckon you should talk to one of my drum mates, "Noogie" (aka Michael Nguyen). This guy, when he was working at one of my local drumstores, could have had fitted his whole kit with just one brand of cymbals at an employee's discount if he wanted to. Instead whenever I used to see him, he'd have some Meinl Hi-hats, a Paiste or Zildjian ride, Sabian crashes, Wuhan effects....whatever he fancied and he could get away with mixing. So if he can do it, so could you!

I am definitely in agreement with this now, its a case of get what you can afford and what your ears tell you is best for you, no matter what factory it was made in or what the sticker says.
