I love ToTo!!! And Dorothy too!
Seriously, I've been a fan for years. I've hung out with Jeff a couple of times and I've seen Lukather play many times at the Baked Potato.
I found this information on the web and thought it was worth posting. But, that's probably because TOTO is ranking as my most favorite band ever. Many other acts are close but TOTO song for song has got to be one of the most influentual bands I'd ever heard.

Couldn't help commenting, and it is shameless self promotion. But that's one initial away from my band, TSTO. :P

Hands down the "Best" band live I have ever seen bar none. I seen them at Stations Casino here in K.C. several years ago. They leave it all out on stage and don't hold anything back. I guess from what they said at the concert they are pretty popular in Europe, but I would spend my money on them anytime they come back.
So according to Bish's line up list, that was Simon Phillips on drums at that concert at the casino . I missed the introductions. Wow, cool.
Guess you could say, I'm a fan....

I am not familiar with much of their stuff but 'Africa' remains one of my favoutite tunes ever, those harmonies in the chorus do it for me everytime and Simon Phillips is a great drummer, I think I should check more of there stuff out, our keys player likes them alot too.

Yes TOTO brings backs memories. Great band in it's time but haven't heard much of them in years but I guess they are still around by looking at the dates Bish has bought to this site. I also see Jeff Porcaro was replaced by Simon Phillips in 92 and wonder why? maybe he is retired who knows.
I have always liked TOTO.They never "wore out" for me,even after a million replays.Roseanna and Hold the line were the top tunes on the album I ran out and bought.I knew I wasn`t going to get just one great song on the album and the rest of it be poor.I think it was Porcaro`s drumming that hypnotized me.Since I saw a video of his ambidrextrose,(pun intended),abilities I am truly amazed.I believe he is my new Idol right beside Buddy Rich.To achieve that level of ability,I would finally rest after what to me would be a long climb.

I have liked them since day one. I have a recent concert on DVD as well. I dig their sound- Toto and toto IV are my favorites.
Wooo.....hate to tell ya man, but Simon was brought in because Jeff passed away in 1992. RIP.

Yeah Bish, I always have, always will be a fan of the band. Hell, I play Jeff Porcaro Signature sticks....and an old bandmate of mine who now lives in Singapore used to stick a pic of Lukather on his amp.
(Still can't make the Rosanna Shuffle swing though, lol!)

Love this band.
Mikey still listed in 2010?
I thought he was done because of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease).
Poor guy.
“I did not trip and fall. I attacked the floor and I believe I am winning.”
I wish he would ONLY be retired. But he passed away in the early '90's. I was devistated hearing this news. To this day I still can be brought to tears over his passing. He was my mentor, my teacher and my idol. Jeff made TOTO.
Simon Phillips has done Jeff proud and Simon does keep most of what Jeff put into each song...because it belonged. Jeff knew what to do in every situation. He was the best....

To be fair, I only know of the song Africa, but that is my 19th most played song on iTunes, I must listen to more. I'm really into 80s music at the moment, I was listening to Falco the other day!

Interesting as it is, did anyone ever hear of a band called YOSO. They were on tour in 2009, they had members from Yes & Toto. The drummer is a very good friend of mine that I grew up with in Philadelphia. I've been in touch with him before the holidays and he said he had a great time on tour, he's a session drummer and works on several projects. How about that Bish.

Here's a band performing Mad About You. I think for the most part they did a very good job.

The line between the real world and the machine world is becoming more and more blurred every day.But its not that humans are turning into automations or becoming slaves to the machines. No, we're simply growing toward each other!
