    Default Double Bass Advice

Can you guys help me out/advice? I feel like I can't get any faster and i feel like i'm really pushing hard on my pedals to get hit. Do you guys have any advice on speed, foot placement, or double bass practices?

    Thanks.

Alot of options here, New springs(if they are worn), move your feet back on pedals, and rudiments on your feet to name a few. The Vater stick web site has a great chart for building up foot speed.

Also, when I don't have the pedals infront of me, I feel like I can go a decent speed but then I get on the kit & it slows down.

There's no magic technique. You just gotta practice, practice, and practice some more.

My favorite speed trick: run! Sprint! On the double pedals! A lot!
You'll be surprised at how simple this sounds but how difficult it is to do and how fast you can go.
I get a work-out just thinking about it.
