    Default e-kit for practice

i hope i don't bore you guys with this because i'm sure you've had this one before but i need advice from you e-kit experts. i work 2nd shift and i just don't get near enough seat time (about 1 to 2 hours a week!) as i'd like. i would love to get to practice 2 hours a day and i think my solution would be an e-kit. my budget is 1,000$ to 1,200$ (THANK YOU TAX REFUND). i"m a pretty hard hitter (stewart copeland is my hero) and i need a stout kit that can handle it and i like to play funk, hard rock and even some pop stuff. is there a kit in my budget that will work right out of the box or is there one i could get cheaper and make some usefull upgrades with the cash left over? thanks in advance fellas!

Love my Roland TD-9S. It's within your price range.

There are a number of good e-kits, so look around for the features you want.

Don't forget that you will need an amp or headphones to hear it, so $200-300 more. Probably want dedicated kick pedal and throne too, so you can easily move between kits without any hassle.

Maybe that $1000 Alesis? Four cymbals, 4 toms (2 up, 2 down). It'd also free you up some cash to get the amplifier.
So itchie, how did the kick sound?
