Wink Country and Western music thread

Since this place is crawlin with rock an rollers,I thought it only fair to share something a bit different.Besides, there are no "music" threads per se,so this looks like the only "legal" place to put it.
Drumbledore gave me the idea when he started his "All about Africa" drum thread, which I think gives everyone a chance to experience a different and wonderful side of music.

Heres a "political" one that in its words, makes it one of my favorite songs.

Do you know what you get when you play a country record backwards?
    You get out of jail,
    you get your job back,
    your dog lives,
    your girl returns,
    youre sober again,
    your truck runs...

Hey good one LudwigLifer! And you know there are quite a few sides to country music drumming too. One band that I played in quite a while back loved the fact that I knew how to play the "train beat" with rods or brushes, as well as being able to play "country-swing", shuffles, polka beats etc. I think they sorta found it strange that before I'd played with them, I had been playing in a group where we played odd meters, polyrhythms, ethnic and just plain weird scales (as we were an experimental group), but because I'd been a groove player for such a long time, it was kinda felt good to play a backbeat once again. So I never knock any genre really. I also discovered great country drummers like Eddie Bayers, Tommy Wells, Paul Leim, great great groove masters. Jeez, even Dony Wynn, a guy I used to love listening to playing with Robert Palmer, he ended up with Brooks and Dunn. And then there are all the great players behind great blues guitarists who can cross over into country so well. Tommy Taylor when he was playing with Eric Johnson is a great example. And you know what the sad thing is? Look on the list of drummers on the Drummerworld list...only Paul Leim and Chris "Whipper" Layton are mentioned, hardly anyone else!

It's only when you get to see that there are some basic drumming principles that apply to all styles that that's when a person realises that despite surface differences, music, no matter what style, is really what counts.....if it is done with passion and heart!!-Drumbledore

Took Mrs. RHD to see Tim McGraw last summer. I know there are no drums in this, but this song pulls me in every single time I hear it.
