    What's up everyone,
I'm checking out my GC and MusiciansFriend catalogs and I just noticed how cheap these B8 packages were.
Would they be worth investing on? I see a package with a set of 13" hats, 16" and 18" crash, and one 10" splash all coming out to $210

They are like any cheap cymbal. They don't have that full of a sound and they break really easy (at least how I play on them). But for budget purposes they are perfect.

not any better than zbt or zht or pst5 or any other cheep cymbal. the beginer cymbal market is better and more competitive than ever. zbt and b8..ect are all better than the old schimitars and such. the b8pro ride is really not that bad.

I've played a set of 13 inch B8s on a jazz gig - they performed surprisingly well.

    Save up your money.

Surprisingly, I've found that with only an extra 50 bucks or so you can purchase a AAX or AA Sabian. So, like if your buying a new "set" of cymbals don't buy a B8, however if you just need one cymbal really bad really fast, or if you actually found a B8 that works with your other cymbals and that you really like, I think going with a B8 Pro or any other low quality beginner cymbals wouldnt be a terrible idea.

I have a B8 performance pack, with the 20" Ride, 14" hats, 16" Thin Crash, and it came with a free 6" splash, and a nice plastic Cymbal case for about $210.00. The closed Hi hat sound is really dead compared to the Zildian New beat Hi Hat cymbals we have at church (which are much more expensive), but the closing click sound on the B8s isn't bad, The 20" Ride is very Bright and the overtones build up after you've been playing it for a couple of Bars to the point where it's almost unbearable (I'm thinking about putting some duct tape on the underside for now to see if that will help). The 16" Thin Crash is the only one of the Cymbals that really has a sound I can live with. I've had mine less than a year, and I definately plan on upgrading as soon as cash allows. If you have nothing and that is all you can afford, might be worth it but expect to want something better in the near future. Remember the B8's are very bright sounding you may not want the 18" Ride cymbal, you might want to go with the 20" I would try to test them in the store if you can.

Ya like I said don't go with a whole set because you never know what your getting. Get like one good B8 cymbal that you really like. If you can that is...
