    Default Crappy Deals

We've had many "Good Deal" threads here on DC. I figured that we need at least one "Crappy Deal" thread so that we can share deals out there that are less desirable !

    Here is the first entry....

Lol, I love the positioning of the setup, very innovative

Not to mention that kit can be found for 250 brand new...

That seems to be the norm for C/L around here as well.
Lots of beginner kits for the same price as new or even more sometimes.
    Same holds true for cymbals.
My current favorite is a Catalina Maple 6 pc. with various low end and a couple of mid level cymbals for $2400.
I understand people not wanting to take a bath on their used gear, but they just aren't willing to be anywhere close to realistic on their prices.
I've been looking for a Starclassic kit for about six months now and on the rare occasion when one comes up, it is priced much higher than GC's used stuff, and very close to a new kit. Pretty frustrating.

BTW, great idea for a thread, Nio.

It's hard to explain what some people do to themselves. Buying a drum set and cymbals with no reasearch and trusting that salesman at the local music store. Some local stores are great, but some aren't. Buying and selling something you know nothing about just isn't right. All they have to do is log on here to find out what they need to know. In this area it's common to see year or two old exports, forums, whatever with ZBT's for 1200. Barely used even. For some reason they all seem to have the toms out like helicopter propellars. Hopeful wishing maybe that they will fly out the house with the first call?

Ever seen this, Symbols for sale or Base drum for sale?

Wow, I have been searching my whole life for this kit, is it still available? I am a little short on cash cause I am still waiting for delivery of my 2006 GSXR 600 I bought on line for $1200. He promised to ship it from Zimbabwe as soon as my cheque cleared.

There's currently somebody trying to sell a "DW" kit on evilbay for north of a thousand dollars with some really shady badges and pdp lugs. No bids yet, but I feel sorry for anybody that falls for that one. I really hope that nobody does though.

    Weezy-
I saw the kit on e-bay it's actually is a DW- "Workshop" series. This pre-dated the "Pacific" line. The shells were 6 ply maple w/o re-rings and the bass drums were 8 ply. They were made in the Ensenada Mexico plant and was DW's first attempt at a mid level professional kit.
The price he's asking for it is ridiculous for a 10" tom and a 22" bass drum considering back in 2001 when this series came out you could buy a five piece brand new for $1299.00
If you find one of these cheap they are fantastic maple kits. Similar to the LX series and the Platinum series.

These all crack me up. Set ups also non drummer, possibly parent getting rid of sets from failed drum interest situations. Hence, hi hats set up just to get them in photo, rather than in position where normal human could use them.
