    Default E-Kit for BFD2 etc

    Hi there,

I am looking to buy an electric drum kit for use specifically with BFD2, as such i am not interested in the quality of the sounds.
I write/record songs so would be using the kit solely for these purposes, recording using Cubase

    What kits would you recommend?

I have been looking at the alesis usb studio kit, since it is midi only.
Are the cheaper kits (alesis DM6) just as good at triggering midi as the trigger io is on the usb studio kit?

Also how much of a difference does a continuous Hi Hat make?

To summaries, my main requirements are:
    -Fast and sensitive midi triggering
    -Around £300-£400

    Cheers

    Paul

save your money and get a real set, either a TD4 or DTX550 and up... the money you save "cheaping out" will be offset by the amount of time and energy spent trying to sort out all the anomalies

even the better sets STILL require a bit of messing with to get right, but at least you start out of the gate 80% of the way there

i wouldn't bother with the Alesis sets at this point; if people are thinking about FILLING THEIR RACKS WITH SAND to help with triggering, that would be considered a bad start

the hihat is where you'll notice it the most... the VH11 or RH135 i feel are the minimum starting points
