Nice to meet everyone!
I just joined yesterday. I love the drums. I always wanted a kit growing up, but instead played piano (for years). In the late 90's, after my 1st year of college, I finally had enough $$ to buy my first kit. I put Rush on my headphones and just started playing. 15 years later I realize I am doing many (if not most) things incorrectly. I didn't even know what a rudiment was until a week ago. My goals have changed, I want to really learn the instrument, to become a student. That's why I'm here.

Hello Everyone...I'm Bob Cianci, drummer, guitarist, music journalist and author. I came upon DC while surfing the web abd came aboard because it looks like a good forum. I live in northwest NJ, have been a working musician since the late 60s, and play with two bands, The Kootz, a very busy cover band that works 250+ plus gigs a year, and The Burgundy Watch, my band, in which I play guitar.

I have written for some of the major drum magazines and few guitar magazines over the years, and am author of the book, Great Rock Drummers Of the Sixties. I have also written for a few blues magazines, newspapers, and websites.

That's what I thought you were referring to. I have a warped sense of humor, s oI had to get the funeral line in some way or other. I wouldn't put the circumstances where I saw a dead person outside of a funeral home in a forum where we are supposed to be having fun.

I started taking lessons when I was 7 and played in a wedding band with my dad and his friends when I was 14. 15 years ago, I sold my drums to buy a piano for my two kids. My daughter put herself through college by teaching piano. My son still plays as well.

A few weeks ago my wife and kids told me that they appreciated my investment and bought me a set of drums.

I am now getting back into the swing of things after 15 years without playing.
