Not sure but Mick Fleetwood comes to mind for some reason.

I started learning drums about a month ago. I have a use Ion set that I think is perfect for me. I also have an acoustic POS that is getting new heads and I'm trying to learn how to tune.. I'm pretty happy with the progress I've made so far. I'm starting to read simple beats on sheet music and drumming at about 80-100 bpm using a metronome. I'm also getting better at limb independence. I hope to be playing along to familiar, easy song in a few months.

It's nice to learn something about you Al, and Mick Fleetwood is not a bad drummer to have as an influence. If you have any questions as you are starting your drumming journey, please don't hesitate to ask the community. We're all here to help any way that we can.

Thank you PB. This does seem like a pretty cool site. I was just listening to Mystery To Me. What a great album. I really like Hypnotized!
Al
I like Fleetwood Mac too Al, and Hypnotized is a great song. Now that you've put it in my head I'll just have to have a listen.

AARP old, but not retired, yet.
Male, most of the time.
Yamaha DTX500.
No Favorite Drummers. I like the "Roots" drummer, more so because he seems like he is always having fun.
RockBand
I regularly hear voices, 4 of them and I live with a firebug ghost named Thor.
Google looking for drumming in an Apartment.
I live on the border of Parkland and Tacoma, WA. I currently have a house, but due to issues beyound my control, I may be moving to an apartment.
I started with hand drums in a drum circle several years ago. I went to EMP with a friend and fell in love with the drum kits. I saved and finally purchased the DTX500.

Hi my name is Eric. I've been playing for almost 30 years. I play in a couple of bands and like lots of styles of music from jazz to death metal. Some favorite drummers are Nicko McBrain, Mikkey Dee, Dave Lombardo, Pete Sandoval, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Max Roach, Roy Haynes, Art Blakey, Dave Weckl, Will Kennedy, Steve Gadd, Paul Brochu, Ringo Starr, Peter Criss, Eric Carr, and more I'm probably forgetting.
I play Gretsch drums at the moment and cymbals from the big 3. Nice to interact with you all.

Welcome buddy! You are a class act! Good to be able to talk to you again!
Hey guys. I joined about a year ago and was pretty active, but then I got busy and stopped posting. Hoping I'll be back for good now. Just a quick update: I've been recording for a couple projects. My Mapex Meridian Maples sure did surprise me with the pro-level sound I was hearing from the unedited and drum-isolated mix. Both times I used my Ludwig Brick snare which also surprised me at how great it sounds. And today, I ordered myself a DW 14x6.5 Black Nickel Over Brass snare drum and next week a 22" Zildjian K Dark Med. Ride.
Mapex Meridian Maple
12"x9", 14"x14", 16"x16", 22"x18"
Addiction Drum Design custom 14"x7" segment snare
Ludwig Epic 14"x7" "Brick" snare with custom paint
DW Collector's Series 14"x6.5" Black Nickel Over Brass snare
Zildjian A Custom
14" Mastersound HiHats
16" Projection Crash
18" Projection Crash
21" Rezo Ride
Evans Drum Heads
Meinl Cajon
Meinl Large Studio Shaker
LP Egg Shaker
LP Cyclops Tambourine
Thank you for the heartfelt welcome guys, much appreciated
Yeah... I'm planning to stay here for a few years to come, so I brought my slippers too, I like being comfy ya know, I'm not getting any younger
Hey, Glen, still swimming in a sea of Mapex drums?
Keep On Drumming

.................................................. ............
I have played drums since I was about 13. My mom paid for about 6 lessons then we had other things that our family had to spend money on. I learned 99% of what I know from listening to records. I wish I had learned proper technique and rudiments, but it may be a little late now. I play for fun and stress relief now.
My first set was a 1957 white pearl Slingerland kit. I then bought a Ludwig Vistalite set new (1975) and I had them up until about 3 years ago. They spent about 10 years in the attic after I got married. I happened to sit down at a Rolad TD4 kit and told my wife that they were a blast and sounded great. She said, buy them! I ordered a new set and played them for about a year and a half then bought the Pearl E-Pro kit. I like the sizes and the sounds they produce. Not the same as an acoustic kit, but I can'e play an acoustic kit at home anymore.
I look forward to just listening to you folks and interjecting if I have anything worthwhile to add.
Thanks for having me!
Glad to see you here. A lot of good people on this forum.
The other place made me feel like I was walking through a graveyard.
