Welcome to all our new members!
We're glad to have you become a part of the chat, and for those that are newer to drumming, don't worry that you're going to get flamed here. That's just not our style. We much prefer to encourage each other. This is a great place to hang out and just enjoy the company of other drummers.

Some of my favorite drummers are Mark Guiliana, Joe Morello, Vinnie Colaiuta, Chris Daddy Dave, Benny Greb, Blake Richardson, Steve Smith and a lot more... Hard to narrow it down...
I am not currently in a band, but would love to play in a group if I can carve out the time. My marriage, new baby on the way, and work take most of my time.

Hey everyone! Excited and glad to finally become a member of a forum instead of just reading old posts when doing research.
My name is Caleb Benedict. I'm 28 years old living in southern Oregon. I've been playing drums since I was 11 years old, have played and toured with several bands (no, not any big name bands, I'm definitely not some hot shot pro!) during and after high school, then moved to Nashville and worked with a signed band for about a year before moving back home to Oregon. I've had a Truth Custom Drums kit since 2004, was ready for something new, sold it and now am the proud owner of a Ludwig Classic Maple kit.
Looking forward to being a part of this drumming community!

I have been playing drums for about 40 years, 35 of them exclusively on Ludwig drums. I have played many styles of music over the years. Most recently it's been blues, top 40 rock/pop/variety, classic rock, swamp pop, and country.
I've gigged the Baton Rouge Metropolitan area for the last 10 years or so. I'm currently getting back into the music scene after taking a brief hiatus to coach my son in baseball in preparation for helping him achieve his dream at this point in his life - making his high school baseball team. Tryouts this coming December after which I plan on diving right back in head first ...
Glad to be here!

Hi, kids!
I've been gleaning wisdom from DrumChat for a few years and I've finally registered an account.
I'm a baby boomer hobbyist in the San Francisco bay area. I've played drums off-and-on (including a couple of decade-long off periods) since the 70's. I used to rock, but now I like to play mellower music with minimal equipment. Currently, I play with a jazzy acoustic blues combo (the DustUps) and occasionally with the worship team in my church. For the past year, I've played the majority of my gigs on a ****tail kit (yes, standing up).
Before posting on DrumChat, I didn't realize my stand-up kit was obscene and in need of censorship
Thumpin' Scott Comet
Cool Cajon (Erakkustik), Nice C0cktail Kit (Gretsch Brooklyn), Peculiar Bop Kit (Whitney), Boring 5-piece Normie Kit (Yamaha)
Welcome comet! Looks like we're "neighbors". Go Giants!!
