Default do pdp kits hold their value??

    gday guys

so i got a pdp lxe kit which i bought brand new a couple years ago (http://www.drumchat.com/album.php?albumid=604 if u wanna see it) and its a gorgeous kit, dont get me wrong, but do they hold their value?? cos ive heard otherwise, on account of them being a more cost-friendly kit n all and ive often seen them going cheap on the net.

that being said, im not looking at selling mine anytime soon im just curious..

Most midranged kits dont have the greatest resale value, unless its a rare model. I bought my Pdp MXs for $800 something and Im seeing them go on Ebay for as low as $350.

I have a PDP 7pc LX kit, in great condition that I was selling recently. The offers I was getting were well below what I paid for it a year ago. Since PDP released some new lines in that general price range, it has taken from the resale value of kits like mine. I'll hang on to it and and use it as a second kit, or convert it to an ekit. Still a great looking/sounding kit either way.

Aye drumstix don't go by what the pdp's sell for in the U.S.A cause they have the cheapest price over any other country. You paid 2500 and that is the going price for those drums in your country. If you are planning on keeping them then who cares how much they are worth. I bought my Pearl MCX shells only for 2000 and they sell for in the U.S for 1400 and that is across the border. When the day comes for you to sell I am sure there are someone that will be willing to pay you good money for your. Keep on drumming.

Mate, that is a beauty of a PDP you have there. Wow! Yup, being in OZ will inflate the going rate of drums, so I think you did alright.

    Australia? I got ya'!

You've got a beautiful looking kit with a 10 lug kick... I'd keep her! Almost any kit will lose some money down the road... I wouldn't worry too much about it. I was just surprised at the cost... didn't notice where you were at. I bought a brand new, in the box 6 pc CX maple (8",10",12",14",22" and 14" snare) in '06 or '07 for $6XX (forget the exact amount, just that it was six hundred and some odd dollars). Since they cost more over there... I'm sure the used price will be much higher as well.

Hey drumstix just visited your photo album.Love the color of your kit and it sure doesn't look like a cheapo. You got to get rid of those ZBT's man awfull sound they are. I had and hated them. Get yourself some nice Zildjian A's Avendis and you will not believe how your kit will sound. I also see you have O rings get yourself some 2 ply heads and a little moongel, just a suggestion. Nice kit keep it.

Sweet kit,no doubt! Ive never heard anything bad about PDP,and besides, that not entry level.Just sell them in your area,if you ever do,to get the most out of your investment.
