Congrats! I have the same kit and I love it. It's the best combination of price and features.
Picked it up yesterday. Dove into a bit last night and tonight and am impressed for the quality at the price. Of course it is not an acoustic kit and doesn't respond like acoustic drums, but it does what I need it to do--A medium to work on time, coordination, and songs.
It seems there are a bunch of blank user banks available to fill. Going to dive into that this weekend.

Expensive?! Where do you live? That certainly isn't the case in the U.S.. Roland's equivalent, the TD9SX, is roughly $1,000 more and that's really the only thing that compares. Nothing has more features for the price.
As for the 2Box, we can't get that here in the states. I believe it has something to do with Roland's copyright with the mesh heads. Regardless, I believe the 2Box set sells for something like $3,500, if I remember correctly (I could be wrong). More than double the price of the DTX550, but it's also supposed to be a much better set - more in line with the pro level stuff.

I agree, roland are very expensive in comparison to yamaha.
I live in the UK and the DTX550K is £1000. The 2box is nearly double @ £1799 but for the fact you get full mesh heads, large playing surfaces, 3 zone cymbals (that actually do muted cymbal sounds also) and an open source brain that you can upload your own multi-samples to - this feature set is similar to the DT900 which is currently £3300!
