Difference bewteen ebony and black suede remo heads

hello, im getting black drum remo heads, cant decide black suede or ebony. whats the difference

Ebony is not coated, behaving like a clear. Black Suede is coated. I've had both, I highly recommend the Black Suede. My ebony experience sucked, for lack of better words.

Ebonys are also commonly used as resonant heads, which IMO they are better suited for. Want ur kit to look even cooler, then go Black Suede Emperor over Ebony Ambassador.

I bought the Black Suede Ambassadors for my kit. I loved how they looked but couldn't stand the sound. I hear the Suede Emperors sound better but I haven't tried them. It's the difference between single ply and double ply.

I have black suede's on one of my sets and they sound great, just dont remember if they are emporers or ambassadors
