    Default Famous People?

    Anyone ever met, related to or know anyone famous?

    I'm related to someone who signed the Declaration of Independance but I can't remember who and I can't ask my mother because we aren't speaking right at this moment and no one else knows.........

    I met Judd Nelson once in NYC when I was 15.

    I work with a woman who is Shaquille ONeil's aunt.

    Anyone????? (I'm bored, can you tell )

    I met Lou Gramm once (the lead singer from Foreigner) his father Ben Grammatito ran a Big band here in Rochester NY that I played with, and he had his son come in and sing a couple of Standards with us at our first concert. He had a fantastic voice even singing Jazz, and he was very friendly. His father recently passed away, and he had some health issues, but I'm glad to see he's been getting back into the music scene recently.

    My only famous relative that I know of was my Great Grandmother's cousin George "Gabby" Hayes, the old western side kick of Roy Rogers. He grew up in Wellesville NY with my Great Grandmother who had some pictures of them together as kids. He died in 1969 when I was only 9, and I don't think I ever got to meet him.

    When I was a chiropractor, I practiced in southern California. I got to treat Debra Harry (hope I spelled it right), and Bette Midler. The cool part about them was that they were regular people - just famous.

    My step-dad Jerry, knows a man by the name of Andy Godfrey, who did all of Van Halen's ampification systems and set ups. Knew them personally and on first name basis.

    My guitarists dad, Judd, played with a guy who is now signed under Roadrunner Records.

    My dad, Jaime, us on stage with Ozzy and Tommy Iommi during Ozzfest in the Astro Dome.

    My friend Josh met 3 Doors Down's bassist and performed in front of him.

    uh...I'll think of some other in a little while...

    Hmm, lemme think...........Sam Perkins, former NBA player (he's from this area), NBA legend Willis Reed (when he was GM of the Nets, at a pre-season game at the local sports arena), NBA player Grant Hill (at the same game, he was a rookie playing for Detroit at the time), Deion Sanders (the Yankees had a farm team here a while ago, when he was playing baseball and BEFORE he became "Neon Deion" and concentrated on football), Joe Bonamassa (guitar great), Vince Neil, Rob Zombie, and I met Jason Varitek and Johnny Damon (baseball players)...........I think I'm forgetting a few, though.....oh well.
    Word to the wise : don't mess with the drummer.

    I did an EKG on Jahidi White when he played for the Suns. I had to get an obese size thigh cuff to get his blood pressure (on his arm). He was huge! He was following me around the ER as I did these tests on him and put him in a room and even though he was nice, it was very intimidating. He 15 inches taller than me!

    Cool Famous people...

    Being in broadcasting for over 30 years, I've met a few celebrities...here are a few...

    Pete Rose (before he began betting on baseball, in 1972);
    Margaret Mead (the anthropologist; in college);
    Lou Brock (famous St. Louis Cardinals base burglar of the 1970s);
    Art Fleming (the original host of "Jeopardy!");
    and Louis Bellson, who was the special guest of the very first drum clinic/recital I attended--and played at--in 1990.

    As the host of a telephone talk show, I've talked with several members of the Jimmy Carter family (Miz Lillian and Gloria Carter Spann); actress Julie Harris; and, my favorite of all, Richard Sanders (Les Nessman on the original "WKRP in Cincinnati, whom I interviewed as Les Nessman--unfortunately, I didn't make a tape of that one!)
    keep the beat goin' ... Don't keep it to yourself!
