It's true. And they've got features like nobody else. Not even Dynasty.

They look alot like Pearl or Yamaha drums, but here's what makes the difference

Snare: You can remove the actual snare from the drum easily and replace the snares without paying too much for a new one. These snares also have detatchable and adjustable mutes. So long story short, no putting tape on the bottom head anymore The snare on/off switch (and Tama's done this with just about all their snares) is easily accessable and it's pretty much right under your hand.

Tenors: They're adjustable. Yup. I said it. There are easily accessable screws with which you can adjust the tenors to so that they're comfortable to play.

Harness/carrier: This one is a beauty. It looks sweet, too. Tama has fixed lots of problems in the marching world by making an easily adjustable back, which you can lock. So if you're a pretty big guy like Late8, you can move it out more, and if you're freakishly skinny like Yohin, you can push it closer.
Oh, and there are locks that attatch the harness to the drum so that you don't have to worry about your drum falling off.

Stands: Centered position so your drum doesn't tilt or unexpectedly shift. They're really good at doing that.

Basses: Not much here, other than that the carrier locks are more thought out and executed.

All in all, Tama's done pretty much what I thought they would do: Look into the problems that the marching world has, and fix those using hardware.

I go to my local drum shop and purchase my sticks. I like to touch them before I buy them ;-)

Seeing that logo on a marching bass drum is really strange.

I had wondered what Float was up to these days:
