if it works for you, then its 100% correct .
for my ride, think of travis barkers ride, its on a boom. and its low and flat. it isnt hurting the edges at all, nor are my sticks chewed up. same with the china. the reason being is that they are low. my crashes are not really high, but alot higher then the ride, i tilt them a little towards me, to avoid stress on the edges. no sticks are chewed up. hardly any dings also. am i doing this right? i dont hit too hard either.. i just want some suggestions and confirmation from everyone
if it works for you, then its 100% correct .

I'd say if your sticks aren't chewed up then you're doing good.

Too right PB, LL's put it so right. Best way to explain that kind of "glancing" blow I tell people to do.

Additionally, if you're hitting your cymbals with a glancing blow, you'll notice the logo's orientation will rotate over the course of your practice/playing session.
A simple, elegant design is good engineering.

+ 1 on the picture can't explain it any better.
Yeah I always remember reading the "glancing blow" recommendation.
In my amped up rock situations I don't care how I'm hitting them. I swear my cymbals are bulletproof.

The glancing blow sounds so much more musical and resonant too!

I can't see the picture for some reason but the glancing blow is definately the way forward unless you:
1. Like to waste money on new cymbals everyweek
2. Have a cymbals endorsement and just don't care
I have my cymbals the same way. I play very heavy and aggressive music and have a heavy hand, putting my cymbals in a low and slight tilt has saved me alot of money and didnt effect my playing.
