    Greeting everyone ..

I use to own acoustic drums but had limited space & had to consider the neighbours.

I bought a cheap ion e drum kit but it was dull & unispiring to play.. I think i would have been more enthusiatic if i didnt have to consider those factors.

Ive considered combining an acoustic snare with pro electronic drums but they still failed to address my space & storage issues.so my only option is to build one...

I'm a qualified electrician & electronic technician so i'm familar with the technical & practical stuff which is well documented . I personally dislike rubber pads & im not interested in window mesh , stitching, adapting acoustic kits with practice heads etc etc etc.

I have an unlimited budget but the two main issues i had to addresss revolved around frames, triggers, pad response & quality control but i found a neat solution & its very cost effective..

It's still work in progress but i hope this thread will inspire others to brainstorm & expand on creating some functional & attractive e drums....

    update on my external triggers...

The piezo transducers are enclosed & protected & ive mixed & matched heads.

They can be mounted across any surface with minimum effort.

Ive tested them across all surfaces using an alesis dm5 & alesis trigger i/o module & experienced no problems.

Thought about a new module? Or a new sound pack?

you could of saved a ton of money by making your own piezo triggers can make about 9 of them for like 25 bucks and they are super responsive, try to google it if your interested. other wise the module makes or breaks edrums/ triggers. more money you spend= better quality drum sounds, variety, bells and whistles, and possibly even a input for an mp3 player.

    I don't understand your comment..

Ive modified 35mm piezos to use as external triggers & simplify the diy process..

Here are some smaller ones for use on my double sided multizone 6 inch pads
