Re: DamageDrummer and late8 Team Up
Bumping this thread up to share some pics of last Friday's show at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma CA with DOT. The Phoenix Theater was originally named the Hill Opera House when opened in 1905. The building burned down in the early 1900s and was reopened in 1935 as a movie theater.

After suffering from more fire damage in 1957, the building was restored and renamed as the Phoenix Theater by the current manager. During the ‘80s and ‘90s, the theater hosted many rock band greats such as The Ramones, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Primus, Green Day and many others performed on this legendary stage in Petaluma. Sublime played their last show at The Phoenix, with lead singer Bradley Nowell.

By day, The Phoenix serves as "After School" safe hang out for kids and provides free art and music classes.

At night, the venue opens its door to all ages and provides a much needed music venue for local bands.

Re: DamageDrummer and late8 Team Up
DOT divides up the drumming duties between two drummer now. Drummer #1 (aka DamageDrummer) opens the set.

Then, somewhere in the middle, the lead singer's son, (aka YoungBlood) plays three songs.

And finally our buddy DamageDrummer (aka Jerry) finishes up the last song in a rather short 40 minute set.

Final thoughts from this show:
I got to the venue at 3:00p and I left right after we got done loading the trailer at 9:00pm (DOT was 2nd on the bill). Although the audience was made up of friends, family and the other bands that were waiting their turn to play, it was a fun night and it was great to hang out with the DOT boys.
The city of Petaluma was on the outer fringe of the devastating wildfires that ravaged the Napa and Santa Rosa wine country recently. The town is just starting to bustle back to life and businesses are starting to gear up for the holiday shopping season. My best wishes go out to those musicians who affected by these fires and it was good to see a few of them back on stage.

Re: DamageDrummer and late8 Team Up
It's been over 8 years since I ran into anybody from Damage Overtime but it happened last year in November '24. The band broke up after my last post on this thread but I ran into Mike, keyboard/sampler at the new church that I joined. As I was about to start rehearsing for the first Sunday service, I turned around to climb into the drum cage and I see a familiar face staring at me in disbelief. We both embraced each other like long lost brothers and started recalling the shows that are highlighted in this thread. Mike is one of three audio techs who manages the mixing board on Sundays. Ironically, our roles have reversed and he's "behind the scenes" and I'm out front.
