Hey lady drummers out there - DC and Drummina - I'm talkin to you. And any others as well. Anywho's the recent posts about femal drummers and so forth, not being as good as men drummers etc... well, it's all crap. I remebered seeing this latin woman a while back who was amazing, not just "for a female" - just amazing. Couldn't remember her name. Anyway, was looking around on the v-drum stuff and recognized her on there as Shiela Escovedo - or Sheila E for short. Here is a couple of vids.

The quality is't the best admittedly, I think they are just fan videos - but you can hear how talented she is. Oh and BTW she is 50 this year, wait till you see her - she looks about 30.

I wish i had a video but i remember going to the conservatorium for a workshop and seeing this chick play a solo. Its like 4 or 6 pages long. She memorised it. And it was a percussion kit not a drum kit. (Bass drum and hand percussion instead of toms etc.)

It was amazing. It was the perfect example of using each limb independantly,.

Personally I don't care for her, from what I've seen I don't think she's that great (not comparable to Shelia E. or Cindy Blackman).

Lol. There is a band in oz that was made up of 8 year olds or something. They would sing old rock and roll songs all playning an instrument each. They always got the cute vote. But were never much good.
