Hi all.I'm thinking of changing my sons drum tutor. What questions should I ask a new tutor about the way they run their lessons?

The big thing to find out is the teacher's focus and how much they take their lead from what your son wants to do. You have a range of teachers from those who are teaching drums to play percussion in a school band to those who teach kids how to play rock drumset. My son's teacher is somewhere in between, which I think is the best mix. He only works on drumset stuff (since my son doesn't play drums in the school band), but he works out of instructional books to develop a lot of different styles, techniques, etc...
