Default Sonor Safari / My next set

I have been researching this little kit the last couple of days and decided I have to own one. Cool little set with 16"x16"kick 8"x10"tom 12"x14"floor tom
5"x14"snare. Great for a easy load in and set up/break down. I am putting my PDP Mahogany drums on craigs list in a few minutes. Check out this video and the sound of the set. This guy used a Shure SM58 in front of the kick drum and a condenser above the snare and with the stock heads on them. $339 including shipping.

Check out this video. This set sounds great!

That is a cool bop kit and the toms in that recording were sweet for sure. Have you been able to play or hear it live? I would really want to do my homework on a kick drum of that size. The beater bounce off of the 16" kick drum head will take some getting used to and the kick volume and tuning range might be lacking. Keep us posted, it is a pretty neat kit the reasonably priced from what I see.

Nice! It is a little hard to pick up the kick, but I assume that a mic placed on the kick would solve that problem pretty quickly. Talk about an easy carry to the next gig!

I think I may need to buy one of these. Looks like a lot of fun with those small sizes. Seems like a no brainer for just over $300.

Awesome drums! For that price even more awesome
I like the sizes. I know from my own experience you can still get great tuning range with small drums. You just have look at a 1616 ft for instance. I have one and I can tune very low with good tone - so why not a bd hu.

Sonor makes nice stuff - I've always liked the "Safari" kit.

And - nice playing Bo...and good doubles on the bd

I pretty much like all drums....

One of the FTs on a kit I ordered is the same size, 14 x 12. There must be something to the non-square FTs.

It's nice this kit comes with the riser for the kick. Being totally free from all sides must make that drum sound bigger than it is.
