For the folks in Eastern MA and Southern NH and beyond, don't forget to check the Lowell Folk Festival this Saturday, Sunday!

Lots of great, often surprising musical styles.
Free event, six venues, great organization, ethnic food...!

Sweetie and I attend both days every year, have discovered a number of artists there, and even decided to donate money to the festival in consideration of the value it is to us.

Of note; it was explained to me that the Smithsonian is instrumental in "seeding" new festivals around the country, getting them started with decent bookings for a few years, until they can "walk" on their own (Lowell's is now celebrating its 25th anniversary).
