Question Taye RockPro 7pc Double Bass

I'm considering buying a complete new set and selling my Gretsch. I was checking out low priced, quality sets and found the Taye RockPro. Anyone heard of these? If you have, I'd like some info befor I make my decision. Thanks

Well, before a month I never heard of Taye, but the sandwich bar where my dad always eats after work opened a small drum-store, and he only deals Taye. So, I'll go check the store out soon, and try one of those Taye drums. I'm searching for a new kit too, and if Taye works out fine I think I'll save up for a kit like that.

The owner of that store told my dad that Taye drums are like DW: same quality, same finish, but much cheaper.

The prices really differ, in stead of $2500 $850?

that guy lied. tayes parent company ayotte would be comparable. however taye does have high end and low end products like everyone else. the studio maple is pretty nice. i wouldnt touch the rock pro. you might really want a dbl kick kit but in my opinion you will be downgrading in sound from the catalina.

Thanks, your experience after playing the kit will really help. But I think I've come across a few things that lowered my interest. Like Funky said, it would be like downgrading just for a few extra pieces, and that's just simple. Then I just realized that the RockPro was a birch set, I was trying to search around for a maple set since I hear they're like the alpha-shell.
