Simmons or Alesis?

I got over to my friend's apt. and played his Alesis DM6 he just got put together and it really is good for the money. He plays fast and aggressively with the kind of music he plays and sometimes the hi hat trigger can't respond very well, but if you just play at a reasonable temp it does fine. The $ 350. price he got this kit for appears to be back uo to $ 399. He is just using the kit for practice, because he lives in an apt.

Way to late to respond to this post but, in my experience, Alesis is a huge piece of crap and I would take anything over an Alesis. Even their "high end" kits suck.
