Yeah, and the profile photo speaks volumes about the schizophrenia.... I cant think of Meinl sounds off the top of my head, and as a result, if i can't think of ANY drummer (famous or otherwise) that uses them, then they cant be good. I would rank Zildjian first, Paiste Second, Sabian third, Wuhan Fourth, A Pair of Shoes Fifth and Meinl seventh.Originally Posted by vinnysimmo

No, to me what that list suggests is that they are good heavy cymbals - as most of those bands/drummers are metal/death metal/thrash. The jason Bittner video that has him playing Meinl cymbals also showed them to sound quite good too, so they seem like a decent brand to me - don't know if I would choose them voer Sabian or Zildjian - I can't afford anythign at the moment, so to me it's about what i can afford, not what i want.Originally Posted by michiganice

Whoa now, Meinl are supposed to be like the best cymbals around. I saw a Pearl Chrome EX setup in guitar center with 18", 16", and 20" crashes, a 24" china, and a 22" ride, all Meinl. They definately sound incredible, way better than Zildjian or Sabian, maybe even Paiste. The crashes have incredible featherweight tones, and the ride was almost pefect, not too heavy not so unrecognizable.

The good times won't roll themselves
Gretsch Renown Maple, Paiste Signature, Reflector, and Dark Energy
I bet it was the byzance series, thats a pretty expencive line there, 200 bucks more for a pack then the zildjian or sabian
yea..the MB20's and Byzances look really sweet..
the blow all other brands out of the water
thomas land also used them
Meinl is awesome. And if you really want to compare, open up two internet tabs and go to each company's website. ziljain.com sabian.com paiste.com and meinlcymbals.com Thats what I've done and if you ask me meinl is best then zildjain then paiste and sabian are tied.
