Im pretty sure all of us are working towards some sort of setup within our budgets. Just curious as to whether or not mine is of normal length...

    Tama Superstar 6 piece kit
    DW9000 pedal and hi-hat stand
    Sound Percussion stands

    Paiste 2002 13" hats
    22" ride
    16" thin crash
    18" crash
    8" splash
    10" splash
Zildjian oriental 12" and 18" chinas
    7" Zil Bel
    Sabian Omni ride

Evans EC2's over G1's, EMAD2 on the kick
    Beato Cases
    Roc n soc
    Drumdial
    a variety of percussion
    bongos
    Kickport
Some legit cleaning tools and cleaners
    Stick and drink holder
    High fedelity earplugs
    Mics
    Recording interface and mixer
    software

As or right now all I have are the drums and a few cymbal stands. Wish me luck!
I am currently suffering from gear acquisition syndrome. Will trade soul for drum gear. Donations accepted.

    -SP Hardware
    -Gibraltar Avenger DB-Pedal
    -PST5 Cymbals

It seems, though you listed the model of kit, the drums were sort of second thought and you are more concerned with all the accesories and add ons. You don't mention tom diameter and depth etc.

    Myself, working on a Cherry stave kit, 8X7, 10X8, 12X9, 14X11, 15X12, 20X17.
    Pearl masterworks kit 10X8, 12X9, 14X12, 22X18.

My "realistic" kit to aim for would be my current kit, just some addons... a 10" rack tom and 14" floor tom to my Export kit (12, 13, 16), another snare stand so I can use my Export snare as a side snare (it's just sitting in the corner), an 18" crash, an 18" china, an 8" splash, some better double kick pedals and a few more cymbal stands.

I think i'm pretty happy with my current setup. The only thing I've really been thinking about is maybe trading my 19" crash out for something brighter and faster. Other than that, I'm good.

now all i need is talent....

    Mine would be;

Probably keep my Ddrum D2 in it's current set-up.
    22-12-16.
Just ordered a Mapex MPX Birch snare, 14x5.5.

    Mapex 700 Series Hardware.
    3x Boom Stands
    1x Hi-Hat stand
    1x Snare Stand
    Cloth Top Saddle throne (Red)

    DW 3000 Series single Pedal.

    14" XS20 Medium Hi Hats - Brilliant
    18" XS20 Medium - Thin Crash - Brilliant
19" AAX Stage Crash - Brilliant
    20" XS20 Medium Ride - Brilliant
    18" XS20 Chinese - Brilliant

    Heads - Remo
Tom - Clear Emperor over Clear Ambassador
Bass - PS3 Clear Batter - Ambassador Ebony
Snare - Coated Controlled Sound over Ambassador Reso.

    I think that's it.

I've got like no money to spend, but eventually i will be:

Selling my Performance series snare, and buying a 6.5x14 DW aluminum snare.
    Buying a piccolo snare.
    Buying a 14" Zildjian Efx.
Buying a percussion table that mounts on to my rack.
Buying a pair of Speed Cobras.
Replacing Dw stocks heads with some Ec2s.
    Buying some hard-cases(most likely SKB).
Buying another hotspot monitor(the piano player jacked mine )
Buying a hydraulic throne with 4 legs, so I stop falling backwards.
Trying out a bunch of sticks with ball tips, then stocking up on them.

    That's about it I suppose..

    19" A Custom Rezo Crash
16" Wuhan china (ultimately going to be a 19" K Custom Hybrid China tho)

Pearl Eliminator double pedal and hat stand
    Pearl Chad Smith signature snare
Prolly will add a 9" Oriental Trash Splash and a 14" floor tom at some point too.

Wanna try out the Black Suede line from Remo, as well as the Vintage E's, and a Powerstroke Pro.
As far as sticks, I would like to try different artist signature sticks.

I'm still in the saving and developing of ideas process...

My next purchase is going to be a Meinl Byzance Traditional 21" Medium Crash after the PA system upgrade is complete.

Here's an idea of my goal before upgrading my shells...

    Cymbals:
Meinl Byzance Traditional 21" Medium Crash
Meinl Byzance Traditional 19" Medium Crash or another crash similar
Meinl Byzance Traditional 21" Medium or Heavy Ride
Meinl Byzance Tradition 15" Medium Hi hats

    Drums:
    Mapex M Birch 10, 12, 14, 22
I would like to add a 16" floor tom to this eventually unless i change kits.

    Hardware:
    Mapex 500 boom
    Mapex 500 straight
    Mapex 500 Hi hat
    Taye lightweight Boom

Haha thats awesome! mine could be awhile, depending on how the next couple of gigs pay, I don't start my new job until the 10th... and my job currently is giving me 4 hours a week because I dont harass enough people to get credit cards.

And if I may suggest the Audix i-5 over the sm57. I think you might be a fan of it, seeing as we've come to find our tastes are very similar. I just picked one up and it is amazing. Sounds great on bass cabs, guitar cabs, vocals, snares, toms...ect.

I did love the i5, I used one at church for a while. It was a great mic until something got loose in there and it sounded bad. I'm not sure how old it was though, that could have been a contributing factor. I like both a ton, really. They're both great. Maybe I'll get a new one and compare it to one of my guitarists 57's.

Mine could be a while too, I'm yet again going through the process of getting Zildjian to work with me on that hat. If that gets sent back, I'll have the cymbal in no time. Also gotta sell the Steve Jordan, so if that gets sold I'll be golden. Works slow here too. I work at a local golf course, hate the job cause I'm not playing the local golf course. Next year I'll be gigging full time.

Yeah I'd say compare them. I feel that it has a lot more body on a snare than the 57. Both are incredible engineering jobs but its really a matter of preference when they have equal quality.

I was debating selling my xs20's and my alpha china in order to buy the 1 crash. But I probably will only sell the alpha... I'd like to have backup/practice cymbals with the amount momentum my band is picking up. I hope I'm gigging full time by this winter actually. I'd rather make a couple dollars a week playing music, than a couple more dollars a week working a job I hate.

Mapex meridian birch studioease shell pack, with an addon 8" tom pack.
Remo pinstripe drumhead pack (found this cheap, can't resist.)
    Speed cobra hihat stand.
I haven't decided whether i'd prefer Axis's or speed cobra's. But definitely one of those, a double pedal.
    Roc-n-soc nitro throne with backrest.
New snare stand and ride cymal stand.
That's it for now, then i'll probably look into new cymbals.

Holy crud, we are alike. I'd rather do that too. My money from my job goes into music anyways, lol. And I kept ZBTs for a practice set, so I totally got ya. Also, thanks for the PM. I totally see where you're coming from. I usually mix with a little added reverb, which makes up for it a bit. But I'd rather have a mic that just sticks with the natural reverb.

Haha yeah I'm noticing a lot of things that we have the same preference on. Like your sig saying never getting a double pedal. I bought one because I got a great deal on it, I'm going to be selling it to get a strong single pedal. I like the 5000's a lot, but double pedals are just not something for me ive learned. Every penny of my job goes to food and band gear lol. Yeah I prefer not to have to do much mastering, and the i-5 makes it easier to do less and get the right sound.

I've always admired, been awed and enamored by Neil Pearts kit. So I've worked a long time in order to acquire something on those lines. So now I own a poor man's rendition. I don't think that it has hampered any progress, as the set-up is pretty ergonomic. If I want to play small kit, I can. If I want to go Rush, it's there also, and everything in between. Now if only I could play like Neil Peart.

I echo your thoughts Dave. I would like a new ride for my jazz kit, but other than that, I'm feeling pretty good at the moment, because I just picked up the backrest that goes with the new throne, and I gave it a test drive tonight. All I can say is "Ahhhhhhh."

Oh, and that second part? I could use an extra helping of that too!
