Happy Birthday to her Tom.
Being able to go play my drums at 10:30 PM.
Talking to someone who shares the same appreciation for drumming. Had an awesome hour and a half conversation with Rickthedrummer this evening before I went to my drum lesson. I'm telling you right now, Rick is one heck of a nice guy. He is a wealth of experience to draw from. Thanks again, Rick, for all the knowledge you are willing to share. You made my whole night.

Great posts guys. I love this thread!
Even though it's very cold still for this time of year, I'm happy that the sun is shining. It's a beautiful day here!
...is coming home to the following note from my youngest...

The front says "Reasons why you're the BEST Dad ever!!"
1. You play games with us.
2. You put chocolate chips in our pancakes.
3. You tuck us in bed with a hug and even a kiss too.
4. You bring us back ...'souveneers' from 'bussniss' trips.
5. You tell us about Jesus.
6. You always do fun stuff with us like daddy and daughter dates.
7. You ask how our day is.
8. You're just so cool.
9. You draw with me and Lakin.
10. You support me in my performances.
11. You ALWAYS tell me you love me.
12. You make the best grilled cheese sandwiches.
13. You play the drums (I have always thought that's cool).
Texdrumr - Things like that from your kids somehow make life worth living. Even just seeing that made my day. Thanks for posting that.
Me too. That was awesome! I love children.

Tex, that my friend is the greatest! I'm going thru a nasty divorce with my 6 yr old Daughter in the middle of it and getting those notes/letters is what has kept me going. Every now and then I get a little note from my older Daughters (21 and 20) and they are awesome as well, but when the youngest does it!!!!
I've been going thru some hard times in life the last cpl yrs. and not a religious guy, so my little 1 has kept me afloat. At first I wanted to just run to the bar and drink it all away, but those notes keep me focused on what I should and shouldn't be doing.
Side note... Wife wanted my drums or half the value in court..."what drums? Those are my Daughters and she can play them at my new place (lost my house) anytime"....Judge said the drums stay with Dad...Only thing better than those notes, is when they get left on a set of Yamaha RC's
Couldn't ask for a better daughter, very cool!

Really sorry to hear about your situation and I agree those simple notes can carry a lot of weight in my day. It doesn't matter what I have to put up with at work and such, these girls make me feel like a rock star the minute I walk in the door. It sounds like yours do the same.
I hope things work out for you, quickly. I can't imagine what it's like to go through a divorce.
And PB, you are correct...I'm the lucky one.

that was a real cool note you shared with us TEX...couldn't help but compare myself with the responses and I felt just a little slighted....or at least I'd like to think my children shared similar thoughts. I just can't be sure ! Parenting is so tough sometimes with the hardest part being wishing things were done differently. So I thank you for the post. It was " special ".
happiness is knowing there will always be hope............hanging by a thread, but always hope.
Most definitely. As a matter of fact, there will be "NO LIMIT"... just an unending quagmire of musical genius.
Thanks Tex. Divorce is a horrible thing that I wouldn't wish upon anyone.
Me neither, maybe i'll get it right with the third wife!
