so yesterday i scored an alesis io26 for 50$ i cant get windows to recognize it on her laptop, and my computer doesnt have a firewire port (yet) anybody else have this problem? i also cant get the alesis software to install correctly on her laptop. she has windows 7 ultimate 32 bit. any help would be awesome

Try compatabilty installs might work in xp mode

right click desired prog ,

properties/compatibility

should see a option "run program in compatibility mode for", click the button

see if xp sp3 works first

also make sure you run the prog as the Admin

I'd return it if the problem continues. Couldn't find any downloadable drivers for 32 bit win 7 drivers on their site, research indicates only xp and vista are supported. Do you have a driver cd for the io26?

no, i got it second hand, also channels 1, 5 have blinking lights
i think the pci card is not running the right driver for firewire inputs
