The thing with the Evans was the same as some of the other heads, 1 day I like how they sound, and some days I don't.

I just keep looking for a certain sound. Still don't know what that sound is, but, I'll know it when (and if) I find it.

Hey Rick can I suggest maybe the EC2 on your toms and the EC frosted with reverse dot on the snare. The reverse dot head as amazing surface sound all around from ghost notes to rim shots and cross sticking. I have it on my snare and have experimented with alot of snare heads and this is so far, is the best IMO. Maybe it is not for you, not sure till you try.

I have no self control. Found a 14x6.5 Black Beauty B Stock in great shape for $399 and snatched it up. Thanks for the feedback.

So the online store I ordered the snare from stated it was a black beauty but I'm finding out it is a LB402BB which is actually not a real black beauty according to a local ludwig dealer.

Yeah, black in the picture though. I thought the price was crazy cheap so I even sent a message asking if it was a b stock black beauty to which they repied it was. In writing. No big deal. I'll just send it back. I should have researched better. They still shouldn't have told me it was a bb though when it wasn't.

Lucky for you that they will take it back. I know how it is when you want something and get something else. Good luck on finding a real BB.
