    I'm not sure if this is the right thread to ask this question but I'm looking for the name of a drummer who, having played on numerous hit records must surely be eligible to be added to the list,

    Right here goes;

    I was staying in a hotel in Peurto Polensa, Majorca, in June 1997 and got into conversation with a man who told me he was a drummer and was having a week's break from America. He told me his name which I can't remember.
    So here is your task,should you choose to accept, I need somebody to remind me of his name from the following information;
    He was born in London and was taught by Jim Marshall, moved to America and had played drums with the Everly Brothers for 40 years.

    Thanks Slinglander, no it wasn't Jim Gordon because I would know the name if I heard it. Incidently I was also in prison in 1983 but only because I worked there and not because I murdered anybody although I've been tempted a few times!

    Mark Brzezicki. He plays drums for Big Country (among others) and has some damn fine skills.

    I'll be seeing him in a couple of weeks when I go to the Big Country gig near me. Great drummer. I know the guitars are the "thing" with BC, but without those thunderous drums it wouldn't quite be the same.

    Mapex VXB kit - Transparent Black
    Mapex & Pearl snares

    Damn, I like Big Country for sure. Mike Peters from The Alarm had to step into some big shoes after the late Stuart Adamson (and Tony Butler filling in for a short while), but he does a fine job.

    One of my fave albums that Mark B got pulled in as a session drummer is this one. Although he wasn't on the big hit "She Sells Sanctuary"...that was Nigel Preston:

    I think a mod reviews all the new threads for "Famous Drummers" before posting. Usually takes 24 hours or so, but with the holiday's may be a little longer?

    I guess this is where we mere Mortals list their favorites? I'm a Mere Mortal for sure as a 71 YO resurrected Recreational at home drummer.

    In no particular order:

    Ginger Baker
    Steve Gaad
    Keith Moon
    Buddy Rich
    Steve Copeland
    Dino Dinelli
    Kenny Aronoff
    Jeff Porcaro
    Ringo
    Charlie Watts
    I'm not great at remembering all the names- Chicago's Drummer ; Blood Sweat & Tears Drummer; Doobie Bros. Drummer.
