Default 3 in one oil or Vaseline

Wanted to get some quick opinions here. Took my 6 1/2"x14" snare completely apart for a cleaning and in the peocess of putting it back together. I put a drop of 3 in 1 oil in the lug screws and mounted them back on the shell. So what about the tension rod screw holes. 3 in 1 or Vaseline.
There is still some lug lube residue in some of the holes but it is ok.

I use Vaseline, but mainly because it is convenient and cheap - automotive grease would probably be a better, longer lasting solution.

I line up the tension bolts on an old rag and spray them with WD40. Wipe off the excess then re-assemble.

    Vaseline

I've been using it for decades. Just a touch on the first couple threads on the tension rod.

I was going to try the Vaseline but didn't have any here in the house so I used a drop of 3 in 1 in the tension rod hole and sprayed the rods with WD-40. They seemed to like that. So here it is back together. This is a Chicago made aluminum snare. I think these came with the anniversay sets they sold before moving to the Carolinas. I was told it is classified as a Supraphonic with classic lugs. or is it a 10 lug aluminum chromed Acrolite?
They make a chrome steel version in this size now with classic lugs but not anywhere near the price that these were.

I used to use 3 'n 1, but suspect it contributed to de-tuning.

I use Vaseline, which seems to not attract as much dirt as 3 in 1. I also read somewhere that oil over time reacts with and starts to breaks down metals. The time factor of that happening is probably twice my lifespan being that the parts are chromed. I like using Vaseline cause it stays where you put it and doesn't smell as bad as 3 in 1. Their both good products, but for lubricating, I use this stuff now. Next time I break it down, I'll try this stuff.

Vasoline or even some no-name brand petroleum jelly. WD-40 is what I use for pedal chains.

I don't know if this has any relevance at all, but what do drum companies (Pearl, Tama, Yamaha, etc) use?

I use Vaseline for the tuning lugs and 3 in 1 oil for pedal chains moving parts etc. WD40 is a cleaning agent and it has no lubricating qualities and I only use it to break down grime.

After having a couple of threads strip out on me years ago, I quickly became a huge fan of anti-sieze compound. The silvery stuff you use on sparkplugs and other metallic fasteners that you never want to bond together. Works great for drums too!

A new product on the market and have been using it "Jigg a loo" this stuff is safe on any surface contains no, petroline products, chemicals won't run and stain. It also waterpropels the moisture etc. Great stuff check it out at your nearest Hardware store.

I stripped back my snare yesterday and used 3 in 1 (not for the first time). I just run the nozzle over the screw thread from three quarter up the screw downwards on one side. The oil wraps around the screw in between the thread. Smooth tuning experience!
I play, Gretsch Catalina Birch, 7 piece in the vintage sunburst finish.

Depending what I have more of I'll use either a dry lubricant meant for bicycles or Militec-1, which is used with firearms. The dry lube is best though because dirt doesn't readily adhere to it.
