    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CX9B8r3EYg"]Double bass inconsistency - YouTube[/ame]

    This is me, I'm sure you can notice that
    a) my left foot isn't as loud as my right foot - they are not dynamically equal
    b) there isn't equal intervals between hits- My left foot hits before it should, but I could swear, when I tap on the floor at school my timing is spot on.

    Also sorry for the bad quality, the porhole is on the other side of the bass drum, and I don't have recording equipment

    Is there something wrong with my technique, if it isn't too clear I can post another video tomorrow, for a better angle, and lighting.

    I can't really watch this right now, but if you are inconsistent, all I can say is practice. I used to purposely play at a speed a little slower than my max, for about 10 minutes straight. Just rlrl at a speed that I could play for long periods of time. Before you know it, I could play faster, and faster, and more consistently.

    it may be the height of your throne or the tension on your left pedal.

    Fifty,from what I can see, and its a little difficult, your left foot looks a little stiff to me! looks like when you step the pace up the stiffer it becomes..now how to fix, well practice of course..and its not the same tapping on floor vs tapping on a pedal, but i am sure you new this. good luck

    Ha, thanks guys, I guess all I really needed was a little encouragement. But yeah it does feel like my left leg is feeling a bit stiff when I start playing fast. And the tension is about the same (actually I tightened the left one so I need to put more effort into making it sound consistent. It works for me

    for what its worth, some of the sound differences can be attributed to the double pedals setup, one beater hits in the center, the other doesnt. this bothers me to the point that i wont play one
