Whats wrong with NYC?.....maybe I shouldn't ask that question. Only been there to visit a few times, seems like every other "big" city.

NYC has it's interesting aspects - there is always something going on, it's culturally diverse, and for musicians, it's a great place to be for both gigging and listening.

On the down side, it's crowded, expensive, and it smells like sour garbage.

I live there. It's cool. I live in it's "forgotten borough".. For those who don't know, The city is broken into 5 boroughs. Manhattan(the city that everyone knows of) Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island (forgotten .. D haha

Don't get me wrong - I think that New York City is a great place to visit. If I was a young single guy trying to make it as a musician, I think it would be a great choice. There is so much going on there in terms of live and recorded music, that being there could potentially put you in the middle of some great opportunities.

However, for me as a family man, I just couldn't do it.
