roxy, are you left or right handed? i think if you play open handed thats great! the majority for drummers cross thier hands, thats because most of them are right handed, open playing i hear is much easier and a great skill to learn, i would pay big bucks to magicly learn how to play open hand playing. instead, i have to pratice, and for some of us right handed folks here that can take years, but i think you should do what feels right.

And a open handed drummer, thats uncommon, Im guessing your gonna have a strong left hand when you get to drumline in highschool, keep up the open handed, get your left hand going strong, itll help you down the line tons!
